Who's Behind the Camera

Hi, I'm Jake — the guy with the camera.

Smoke Free Productions is a video studio I run out of Asheville, NC. It's small on purpose. Every couple gets real attention, not a template and a timeline.

We believe the best wedding films feel like memories, not productions. That means we move quietly, work efficiently, and stay out of the way so your day can breathe. You shouldn't spend your wedding aware of a camera crew — you should be present, and I'll take care of the rest.

Before focusing on weddings, I spent three years behind the camera shooting brand films and live events for businesses across Asheville. It's the same craft — now aimed at your wedding day.

Our wedding division is still selective by choice — I'm booking a handful of 2026 and 2027 dates, which means more attention than a studio juggling forty weddings a year.

How much does wedding videography cost in Asheville, NC?

Every wedding is different, so we price each project based on coverage time, travel, and deliverables. Most Asheville wedding videography packages start around $2,000 and go up from there depending on what you need. Reach out and we'll send you a full breakdown with no pressure.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season in Asheville (May through October). If your date is sooner, reach out anyway — we'll let you know our availability.

Do you travel outside of Asheville?

Absolutely. We cover all of western North Carolina — Black Mountain, Brevard, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Boone — and we're available for destination weddings too.

What's the turnaround time?

Most wedding films are delivered within 6–8 weeks of your date. You'll get a private online link to view, download, and keep forever.

What's the difference between a highlight film and a full-length film?

A highlight film is a cinematic 3 to 6 minute edit set to music — the one you'll watch on anniversaries and share with family. A full-length film captures the entire ceremony and key moments with full audio. Most couples get both, included in our standard packages.

Will you coordinate with our photographer?

Always. We reach out to your photographer before the wedding to align on timeline and key moments — a collaborative approach means better coverage and a smoother day for everyone.
